Autons appear on the Sparks tribute album compilation, A Rainbow Over The Freeway. Autons recorded the Sparks song "Hospitality On Parade" under the name The Godammits alongside Marcus Crazy (the biggest Sparks fan they know), Renaldo Malpractice, Stevey Marsh and of course Jello Biafra (of Dead Kennedys and Alternative Tentacles).

Autons met auditioning to be extras in the cult English TV series, Dr Who. Failing in their attempts to appear as Autons (the plastic mannequins that came to life), they decided to form a band named after their beloved Dr Who adversaries. They make electro rock n roll. Stylish and exciting, sleezy and beautiful.

Autons released their debut single, Snakes, in the summer of 2006. It has been hailed as "genius" and quite rightly.
