Album Reviews: The Innocents’ 2 CD set,
issued on Zip Records, and contains 33 tracks, close to the complete
works of the band. Starting with their first, very Beatle-ish
single ‘Darlin”, the songs
extend all the way to a recording from 2000. The CD package contains
too much to mention – a gallery of band photos, reviews,
articles, etc.
With a hilarious intro by then DJ Kim Fowley, these discs are
a salute to major label prowess (EMI and RCA were both labels involved
with many of the tracks) and the talent and tenacity of a band
a bit outside the population mainstream. |
