| THE
INNOCENTS Albums |
Those Tasmanian “devils” – The
Innocents have grown up to be the torch bearers for harmony layered
pop goodness.
They humbly named their initial Zip Records Australia release “No
Hit Wonders From Down Under” (they DID achieve huge noterity in Australia
for the single “Sooner or Later”). Expect a BRAND NEW Innocents
album to come out in America in March 2006 on Zip Records. These lads are
the future of the past.

Dorian Gray
had a “Hazel Grove 07:46” coming out party in Stockholm

2006! Violators will be dealt with swiftly. Seriously, the album
WILL be available at retail shops in the U.S., U.K., Sweden and
I’m sure we’re forgetting some other obvious countries.

| DORIAN
GRAY Albums |
Just before the release of their new album “Hazel Grove
07:46” in November 2005, the reviews are pouring in relative
to their debut album which was released earlier this year on Tokyo’s
Trident Style Records. Giant Robot Magazine (Sept/Oct 2005) says
this about the reissue (with bonus tracks and available in the
U.S. Through Zip Records) , “Playing a dynamic brand of guitar
centered rock reminiscent of The Mission or Teenage Fanclub, every
song is like a mini epic with strumming guitars echoing keyboards
and layered vocals......” An apt description indeed.

FLYNT Albums |
On air!
Ron Flynt played on Radio FRO, 105.0 MHZ in Linz, Austria.
Ron Flynt review (read
more reviews)
By Lee Zimmerman in the Florida weekly paper South Florida’s
Entertainment News & Views:
"L.A has long been the Mecca for rock bands hoping to carve out a
tiny stake in the musical fragment, the same sort of lure that has made
Hollywood the ultimate journey for those seeking the wild rush of the show
business dream. In the late 70’s, a group of musical compatriots
from the heartland took that trip west and achieved a fleeting glimpse
of fame in a band called 20/20, before ultimately dissolving in a collision
of shattered dreams and failed promises.
Ron Flynt was a member of that ensemble and in this, his second solo
album since 2000’s Big Blue Heart, he offers first hand testimony
on what the road to rock glory took him and his band mates (who, appropriately,
reunite to play on this album). L.A. Story is a concept album in that regard.
And each of the songs hold to that theme, both literally and figuratively.
The 14 tracks veer from optimism to disappointment as they chronicle their
story, from the band’s debarkation in L.A. to the frustrations and
infighting that would eventually lead to the their demise. The music works
well in tandem, from the riveting acoustic refrains of “Waiting” and
the Springsteen-like “Hollywood Life” to the playful pop of “Mary’s
World” and the aptly titled coda, “Misery at the End”.
Flynt’s blue-collar narratives stick to the basics, keeping a workmanlike
attitude and unflinching perspective that enhance the story’s authenticity
as well as providing a powerful pull.
In the end, L.A. Story demonstrates that not all the would-be, should-be-stars
make it to the top, that destiny sometimes short circuits even the most
deserving. Flynt’s resolve, tenacity and musical prowess make for
an engaging effort while proving that he and his band fell far from short
of their potential."
