2005 - A new online store!
In February 2005, Zip Records added a new online store to its web site, using Paypal payment system. Order CDs online, pay through PayPal, and have the CD delivered to you quickly. Find Zip Records CDs at the Virgin Megastore, Tower Records, CD Warehouse, etc. If you are unable to find a Zip Records title at your local store (or any source for the tangible good), almost all albums and individual tracks are available through itunes as well as other reputable pay download sites.

Zip Records and the Swedish music scene
Zip Records has always had one foot in the Swedish music scene. However, Bay Area resident Avi Roig has immersed his whole body into Scandinavian artists through his impressive website www.itsatrap.com. Avi was a featured speaker at the Zip Records/Swedish Chamber of Commerce October Swedish Music seminar in San Francisco.

Zip in Mexico
Zip Records is pleased to announce a distribution deal with Cero Records of Mexico City. The San Francisco band "El Jefe" will be released in Mexico in April, 2005! More titles to follow.

Lost in the 60’s
Zip Records will soon be making available Brazilian release “Lost in the 60’s” (Tronador – Sao Paulo)! In addition to Zip’s own Safari Season, this compilation of surf classics (e.g. The Neptunes, The Riptides, the Crusaders) is essential.

Artists from Australia
Zip Records and MGM Distribution (Perth, Australia division), together with Zip Australia’s outback bound David Hughes, will continue to increase the exploitation of Zip artists in that fertile territory in 2005.

2004 - Changes at Zip Records
San Francisco, July 2004 -- Zip Records is changing its look, changing its sounds and changing into a more internet friendly medium. Positively dedicated to selling tangible discs in those ubiquitous jewel boxes, we are aware that despite all the wonderful work, dedication and innovation by our distributor, Burnside Distribution, there are those out there unable to find our albums in rural North Dakota, some may not be aware yet of companies like Amazon.com which can deliver Zip Records CD’s to your door. Now, all tracks featuring Zip Records’ artists will be available for download on all familiar music selling websites.

Zip Records is constructing a new website (same address) which will shake up things and present more unadulterated hype in a new light. Never doing it the easy way, the new website design will be a product of a company far from California...Paris to be exact (www.bamboudesign.com). Watch these pages. Whether sudden or gradual, the new and improved look will be here soon. More information, more up to the minute tidbits and more of what you should expect from a label calling itself Zip!

The change in sounds refer not to a new direction, but to more stuff coming soon! Zip Records is still heavy on the Australian and Swedish melodic driving pop and rock, but there are occasionally artists who are not only cool, but absolutely essential to the catalog of any indie label. Therefore, please note in the latest updates some intriguing genre busting music.
